Rao's lunch - Caesars Palace

They recently started lunch so we were back at Rao's. At lunch, you can get pizza so of course we had to try it. The service was great, just like when we were here for dinner before, no complaints (*CLICK HERE for dinner pics). Everything was delicious and tasty, but my pasta was sooooo hard. I could eat it, but it was the hardest pasta I've ever had at a restaurant. I don't know if I like my pasta so hard. The wierd thing is that when we were here last time, our pasta was cold, and this time, my pasta was hard. But the flavor was very good.

Caesars Palace - Empress Court

Empress Court at Caesars Palace. Good service, but too expensive!

To get to the restaurant you take the elevator up to a second level, it's like a secret entrance. Inside the restaurant is really nice, very relaxing. Not crowded at all. Our table was with big comfy sofa and pillows, it was great. We decided to order very basic Chinese food such as fried rice, chicken with cashews, and lo mein. We wanted to see if it tastes better than the food in Chinatown. Everything tasted just ok, but again, way too expensive for the taste. The guy who brought us the food spilled water all over the table. Glad we didn't have our camera on the table!

We decided to order the "soup of the day", and our waiter asked, "Are you sure?". My husband likes it when the waiter asks that because it means it's probably very traditional and supposed to be the real food you get in China. It was melon soup with some pork meat and bones and pieces of green melon in it. It looked very wierd. We never had something like this before, but the taste was actually very good.

Soup of the Day $8

Fantail Shrimp $12
Very unique taste, the sauce was sweet but it was good.

Seafood Harvest Fried Rice $16

Chicken with Cashew Nuts $18

Caesars Lo Mein $18

Mango Pudding $5.50
My favorite Chinese dessert!

Moon Wok - Valencia

Moon Wok Chinese restaurant in Valencia, California. This place used to be my husband's favorite Chinese restaurant in Valencia. We believe the owner of this restaurant has changed, since everything tastes different from before. (I'll also post pics from before, soon.)
Not only tastes different, but also shrimp seems smaller, vegetables in egg flower soup were hard, and Cha Sui Bao tasted like the frozen bun you can buy at a Chinese grocery store.
But they cook everything pretty fast.

Cha Sui Bao $5.58

Egg Flower Soup $2.58 (s), $4.58 (M), $7.58 (L)

Monte Carlo - Cafe

24-hour cafe at Monte Carlo, called "Cafe". What a stupid name! Anyway, we were just thirsty and wanted some quick drinks. It was after 1 am. There were open tables but somehow we had to wait 5 minutes to get seated. I still don't understand why we had to wait. So pissing me off! Then, we waited for our server, and finally ordered our drinks, then 10 minutes later, the waiter came back and asked us for our order again. I guess he forgot what we ordered. We just ordered two smoothies! It took about 20 minutes from when we placed our order to when we finally got our smoothies. We also ordered a bottled water, and what we got for $2.50 was a small "Monte Carlo" plastic bottle.
Everybody in the cafe seemed so angry because they couldn't get their waiter. We heard some lady screaming "Where is the waiter?", and also the couple sitting behind us was really angry about waiting so long. If you don't like waiting, I don't recommend this cafe.
Their website says: "With so many mouth-watering dishes, we’re certain you’ll leave feeling satisfied". Don't believe that!

Mango Peach $4.50 and Creamsicle $4.50

Water $2.50

Caesars Palace - Augustus Tower (2)

Caesars Palace Augustus Tower again. CLICK HERE for more pics of Augustus Tower.

On this trip, we decided to go to see a show, because if you are Total Rewards (Harrah's) Diamond, you get 2 free tickets every month, so we saw Jubilee at Bally's. We got our tickets just 10 minutes before the show started, and we were lucky enough to get really good seats with a booth and table, for free. After the show, we were playing slots, we both didn't have any luck, just losing money. I was playing Wheel of Fortune, and I didn't do any good so I stopped playing, and changed to the machine behind me, a 777-style $1 machine. I got a $1,500 jackpot after about 5 spins. All the people who were playing Wheel of Fortune behind me were so surprised, and everybody said the same thing to me, "Hey, you just sat down!" "Good job". I'm sure some of them were really angry at me even though they said "Congratulations".

After my jackpot, I played more $1 machines, but I wasn't doing good, so I stopped, and started playing "Money Storm" video slots to take a break from the $1 machines. I did really good on that, I kept getting the bonus, and one time I got 50 free spins. I made almost $300. It was a 1-cent machine.

Krua Thai - North Hollywood

Supposed to be one of the best Thai restaurants in Los Angeles, at least that's what I read on the internet. Well, either me and my husband ordered the wrong items or we both don't like Thai food so much and we don't know if it tastes good or not. We just didn't want anymore after eating half of the food. The people who were eating next to our table also had so much left overs. And this place wasn't like a restaurant, it was more like a fast-food place.

Fried shrimp cake 3 pieces $6.95
Taste was fine, but oily.

Pad See Ew $5.75
We just didn't like this.

Thai iced tea $1.95
Good as always
