Mirage - Alice in Slotland slot tournament

Pics from "Alice in Slotland" slot tournament last week. There was no awards banquet, but there was some food during each session. We also received a tea set as a gift, which I love.

Mirage - hotel room 2008

Here's the Mirage room we stayed in for a slot tournament last week. I thought we were gonna get new remodeled room, but we got this old room. Just yesterday, we received email from Mirage saying that their new remodeling rooms are coming in AUGUST.

There were only 2 pillows and no extras in the closet, hair dryer didn't work, tiny bathroom, and the room was very far from the elevators. If you are planning to stay at the Mirage, make sure you get a suite, their suites are much nicer, or wait to stay here until they finally have remodeled the rooms.

Mad Greek Cafe - Baker, CA

When you're driving to Vegas from Los Angeles, you'll always see the billboard sign for "Best Gyro in the US". We were hungry and we always wanted to try this place, and we finally did.
This place was kinda crowded. But we got our food in less than 5 minutes.
I was really shocked, one plate of gyro costs $9.85, with nasty instant rice. But $9.85, for one gyro?? One drink and one gyro total was $13? Isn't that a little too expensive? Of course we only got one order. It's too expensive for us. And how was the taste? Well, it wasn't "best gyro in the US". Food was so average. If you think this is really the best gyro you've ever had before, your best meal ever must be McDonald's.

This "best gyro" was $9.85.

Stouffer's Lean Cuisine frozen dinner - teriyaki steak bowl

It cost around $1.30 (after coupon). Lean Cuisine is not so bad, yes, I can eat them. It's not that great, but there are so many other bad-taste frozen dinners. All Lean Cuisine frozen dinners portions are so small. 280 calories for this tiny bowl? That sounds really high calorie to me. Even if they're trying to make them healthy, as long as it's frozen dinner that you have to put in a microwave it's NOT healthy. If you microwave your veggies, you lose good vitamins.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf - Black Forest

I personally don't like Coffee Bean so much, I don't hate it, but I much prefer Starbucks. Because Coffee Bean drinks are too sweet for me, but there is one coffee drink that I like, and that is their "Black Forest". It's got chocolate-covered coffee beans and cherries in it.

Cafe Koraku - Primm Fashion Outlets

Koraku at the Primm Fashion Outlet Mall in Nevada. *CLICK HERE for pics from 2005. We thought the taste was a little different from Koraku in Little Tokyo. I was kinda shocked when we saw Mexican people making the food. My noodles were undercooked, still hard, tasted liked something you can buy in a package (3pc) at the Little Tokyo supermarket for $2. Tenshin fried rice was OK, not as good as their other locations.

Tenshin fried rice with gravy $10.25

Ramen salad (hiyashi chuka) $9.35

Jin Patisserie - Venice Beach

Jin Patisserie in Venice, California. Japanese-style delicious dessert. When we were here once before, everything was sold out and we couldn't buy anything. This was our second time, we got here a little before 6 pm, and already half of their desserts were sold out, so if you wanna try this place make sure you get here early enough. Also, parking around here is REALLY difficult. All 4 desserts were total $23. This place also has afternoon tea, which includes pastries and tea set, and you can have them in their little yard.

I think whatever inside was banana

Green tea

Red bean paste inside

Lavender gateau
You can taste lavender flavor, but this wasn't my favorite.
