Carnevino - The Palazzo

Carnevino at the Palazzo. Excellent place to go. Food portions are small and it's not cheap, but they serve quality food. I like the fact that for pasta and meat, you can order either half portion or regular portion. This way, if you can't choose between 2 dishes, you can get both half portions and try both.

"Partners chef Mario Batali and winemaker Joe Bastianich have once again brought their magic to Las Vegas with the opening of their first steakhouse, Carnevino. The name combines the two elements they bring forth – high-quality American meat, and their first-ever international wine list." - from website

compliments of the chef - cheese puffs (and big bottled water $7.50)

rosemary focaccia - crispy, fluffy inside

Fried Calamari, $23
with marinara and pickled peppers
It was not greasy, not too much coating, spicy, tasty tomato sauce and soft. Small portion, and probably the most expensive calamari I ever had, but one of the best calamari I ever had. It's awesome. You gotta try this.

potato gnocchi bolognese, $16 (half size)
No cheap meat smell/taste, not too thick or pasty, no starchy potato taste at all.
As you can see in the picture, it's a pretty small portion. You can also order regular size for $28.

grilled quail, $32
flageolet, fennel, radicchio
medium rare, over flageolets with fennel and orange zest

daily special side: mushrooms, $9

orecchiette, $17 (half size)
sweet sausage and broccoli rabe
salty (probably from the sausage) but not heavy, and not a cream sauce

citrus marscarpone cheesecake with poached apples, $15
flattish, light cake with spiced apples
We both didn't like this one so much. I mean, it wasn't bad taste, it was fine, but I just expected a little more than this.

compliments of the chef - raisins, honey, nuts
