Fluff Ice food truck
Fluff ice, awesome shaved ice food truck. Fluff ice is very similar to New York Snow. There are many different types of shaved ice. Hawaiian, Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese shaved ice, they are all completely different and I really like Taiwanese shaved ice, like this fluff ice and New York Snow. I think Taiwanese shaved ice is the one has unique flavors and toppings.

Vie De France bakery - South Coast Plaza
It was almost a year ago, I was shopping at the South Coast Plaza and I remembered about this place so I stopped by and got some pastries. It's cheap and good so always there is a line.

WP24 by Wolfgang Puck - Downtown
Back in December 2011, I came here to have some after meal desserts and coffee. The view is awesome but everything is expensive (of course) and the service was very slow. Nothing worth the price.. except the view.
Tea $7
Cappuccino
I wish they knew how to do latte art. So disappointed.
Birds nest $14
Bellweather fromage blanc, Huckleberry compote, crisp wontons, mango sorbet
Art of the plate. I enjoyed with my eyes. Small portion, it was good but not amazing. Not worth $14.

Chinese Honey-garlic glaze

Boba Bear - koreatown
Oh yeah.. I totally forgot about this place. I visited here back in December, 2011. This place is kinda hidden, so unless you know it, it just really difficult to find it. When I came here, the place was crowded but they have cozy seating area in upstairs and not crowded.
Boba drink
I can't remember which drink it was.
Hwaiian crepe $6.25
Ham, pineapple, onion, brown sugar, soy sauce
My crepe was nothing special and little pricey for what you get.

Easy sweet potato ube sesame balls recipe
Super easy to make. Ready in under 10 minutes. Since I didn't use any sugar, it wasn't sweet enough for me (I didn't use sugar because ube jam is very sweet). If you are not using any filling, I'd suggest to use some sugar or honey to make it sweeter and tastier.

..and after fried
Recipe adapted from Cherry on a cake
Sweet potato ube sesame balls makes 6 small
200 gm of mashed sweet potato
46 g flour
40 g glutinous rice flour
1/3 tsp salt
1 tablespoon water
Ube jam, red bean, or your desired filling
Mix mashed sweet potato, flours and salt in a bowl and rub
the mashed potato in until it is somewhat mixed. Put in 1 tablespoons of water
first and knead a little to bring the mixture together. If necessary add 1 or 2
more tablespoons of water and knead until a smooth ball of dough is
formed.
Pinch off golf ball sized dough one at a time and flatten
it out into a disc. Place a teaspoon of the ube filling onto it and pinch the
edges to seal and shape into a ball again.
When all have been shaped fill a small bowl of water and
place on the counter where you are working. Pour about a cup of sesame seeds
into a flat dish or shallow bowl and place it on the counter too.
Dip each sesame ball into the water and then into the dish
of sesame seeds. Roll around the sesame balls with your dry hand to coat.
Heat oil in deep pot for deep frying. Cook in oil until golden brown. Serve
warm or at room temperature.
