Maui Sun Water Resistant Sunscreen

I live in Los Angeles, and I NEED sunscreen. I bet so does Hawaii. I can't go out without putting sunscrren. I love the design, it's really cute. It does have strong coconut fragrance and it kind of bothers me. So you may not like it if you don't like coconut. But I do like the product.

Maui Sun is an Advanced Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen with UVA and UVB protection. Delightful Hawaiian coconut scent that transports you to the tropics. Water resistant up to 40 mins. Oxybenzone-free, Paba-Free, 100% Vegetarian ingredients, Cruelty-free. Enriched with Coconut Oil, Shea Butter and Cocao Seed Butter make this a wonderful sun protection lotion.

E.A.K. Ramen - Los Angeles

Iekei ramen is a style of ramen that originated from Yokohama Japan. The noodle is thick so that it tangles well with the soup with every bite. It is a mix of the Kyushu Tonkotsu and the Tokyo Shoyu broth.

Big Wave from Hawaii$7
I normally don't drink beer, but I really liked this beer. It's sweet and tasty.

EAK fried rice $8
Pork fried rice served table-side in a piping hot iron skillet.
This was kinda disappointed. It was small portion for what you pay, and taste was just meh.

Gyoza $8
Housemade, seasoned pork, chives and ginger.
It was extremely greasy but I liked it a lot.

Zebra $13
Pork and chicken broth, pork chashu, seasoned egg, spinach, nori, butter, roasted umami garlic oil

The E.A. K ramen $12
Pork and chicken broth, pork chashu, seasoned egg, spinach, nori,
EAK ramen was better than Zebra. I enjoyed my thick noodles.

DongDaeMoon Dakhanmari - Koreatown

DongDaeMoon Dakhanmari recently opened at Chapman Plaza in Koreatown. This place is all about chicken. Dakhanmari is one of the popular dish in Korea and I believe this is the first and the only place to get Dakhanmari in Los Angeles.
They actually had chefs from Korea and trained so you can get real Dakhanmari the one you eat in Korea.

Whole chicken Dakhanmari

Adding noodles at the end.

Braised soy chicken
I really liked this dish. It was similar to Nikujaga.

Korean style fried chicken
So crispy!

Matcha Matcha - Arcadia

Matcha Matcha is absolutely one of my favorite place to go in the area. If you are a matcha lover who wants to eat matcha soft serve, donuts, shaved ice, or drinks, this is the place to go.

Black sesame and matcha soft serve with kinako mochi and matcha cake $4.75
Yes, I liked my soft serve a lot. But kinako mochi and matcha cake wasn't the best.

So empty inside..

Uncle Tetsu Japanese Cheesecake - Arcadia

Yes, everyone is talking about this place. I've been wanting to go there and I finally tried their cheesecake about a month ago. Each cheesecake is $8.75. And I guess I was lucky because I didn't have to wait in line at all.

So finally I tasted it. To me, it's just average Japanese souffle cheesecake. I don't know what's so special about it. I mean, I guess there is no other place that you can get fresh souffle cheesecake in L.A., and that's one of the reason it's popular.  Sure, I'll eat it but I wouldn't wait in line for 30 minutes or 1 hour for this. It's not worth it.

LA Weekly's Sips and Sweets 2016

If you love drinking and sweets, this is the event to go. I attended Sips and Sweets this year also, and I have to say, last year was much better. I noticed some of the places weren't offering free samples  and they were selling their food. I thought that's not right. Because you are paying over $50 to get in.

Anyway, I just added pics on my facebook. Check them out.

The Eat Show 10.01.2016

The first ever Eat Show was great. So much food and freebies. They are coming back for the second Eat show on April 1st.
It wasn't all you can eat type of event. You get stamp card so everyone can try one time at each place.  But there were more than enough food. I wanted to try all the places, but I was so full and I couldn't.  And also you don't have to worry about the food running out. I like the idea.
