We recently received an MGM offer that included $250 food credits. They said you can use at any MGM-owned company, so you can use anywhere except at Joel Robuchon and Rainforest Cafe. That's what they said. BUT when we were ready to check out, they said they can't comp Emeril's because they are NOT owned by MGM. We ate at Emeril's in 2007 and 2008 and they were owned by MGM and we were always comped. So it's hard to believe that they are not owned by MGM in 2009, and also nobody told us. This was so wasting money. 2 desserts and 2 coffee drinks total was $40. We were just so pissed off, and we're probably not booking at MGM anymore. The room was so crappy, too. View was air vents.
Anyway, OK, so it was busy Saturday night, the restaurant was full and they told us it'll take about 20 minutes to be seated, but we saw there were 2 seats open at the bar, so we sat down. We waited about 5-10 minutes and finally got somebody to take our order. The guy who took our order, he talked so fast, and we couldn't understand him 100%, also he didn't let us explain. First, we received our espresso in tiny cups, I wanted cappuccino, not espresso, but again, we couldn't tell him about that. So 5 minutes after I received my espresso, I asked him to change it to cappuccino, and he did it with no problems. That was nice.
I ordered beignets, because I thought I can get good beignets here but it wasn't. I mean, it was okay, but nothing amazed me, just so normal. My husband liked the coffee ice cream so much. We really liked banana cream pie last time, so we ordered it again, and also that was the reason we came here. But somehow, we thought taste wasn't good as before.
So, we tried 3 times here at Emeril's and we've been disappointed by the food pretty much every time. So I don't recommended eating here. But their cappuccino is always good.

Interesting that your experience wasn't that great! We had a good experience with them two years ago. The desserts look nicely presented but easy to make; I can see why you were not happy about it! Very expensive pricing...
ReplyDeleteVery Suspicious advertising!!!
ReplyDeleteProbably the only MGM owned restaurants are the cafe and buffet
Eat Travel Eat:
ReplyDeleteYou are lucky to have a good experience there, since pretty much everytime we didn't.
Tasty meals at home:
I do know that MGM owns Wolfgang Puck Cafe and Shibuya, because it was comped on the same trip. Also I don't know about now, but Pearl, Craftsteak, Seablue, Nobhill, and Fiamma were also owned by MGM at least in 2008.
Yeah its funny how Emeril is private but places like Craft, Wolfgang are MGM-owned. That just means that Emerils is TERRIBLE and mgm didn't even want to buy them hehehe
ReplyDeleteHave you been to Joe's Prime seafood and Steak in forum shops? It's really good - we dined there a few weeks ago =)
We haven't been to any Forum Shop restaurants because we always book offers that come with food credits. But someday, I wanna try a few restaurants there.
ReplyDeleteI am wondering why Emeril got such bad ratings, but I guess he has a lot to live up to in Vegas. Either way, his espresso looked pretty good.
