Bellagio - Noodles 2008

This was back in 2008, when we got our food comped. This place is open late, that's a good thing. Usually they serve food pretty fast. We hated this place back in 2006, it was awful, but in 2007 and 2008, it was much better. I wonder if the chef has been changed.

Thai Iced Tea $5 each

Miso Soup $4

Agedashi $6.50 ($7 now)
crispy bean curd served with light soy sauce
We liked it.

Calamari $10.50 ($11 now)
I liked it. I mean, I always like calamari.

Hainanese Chicken Rice $20.50 ($21 now)
fragrant rice and broth with home-made chili sauce
I hate boiled or steamed or roasted chicken, so there's no way I'm eating this. But my husband loved it. I think if you like Hainanese chicken, you'll like it.

Salt and Pepper Maine Live Lobster $48.50 (market price)
It can't be bad. It's $49. It was good.

Congee $9
I liked it. All these toppings make the taste better.

Potstickers $8
pork and vegetable dumplings

Malaysian-style Roti Prata $8
pan-fried thin cake with curry sauce

We ordered this because we had no idea what this was. It's basically like deep-fried greasy phyllo dough. No taste. We hated. Not recommended.

Mandarin Beef Stew Noodle $15
beef brisket, tendons-spiced herb broth

Hor Fun Noodles $16
choice of chicken, beef, shrimp or barbecue pork with black bean gravy or oyster sauce

We ordered this because it had a funny name "Hor Fun". Unfortunately, I don't like this type of noodle. It's thick, flat, white noodles.

  1. I am happy that a Chinese restaurant on a strip can serve decent Chinese food. Have heard a lot about this place.

Everything looks visually pleasing but it looks pretty pricey. At least it looks like the food tastes good :).

  2. Hi there, I think I didn't post it correctly, so here we go again. We LOVED your website, it is wonderful! We look at your website so frequently like on a daily basis. Please keep them coming, you guys have great taste and great "camera" and technique. I was wondering if you have to pay for all those? How many people were in your party? I thought they don't comp you for over a certain amount? You guys must be super roller~ Can you plesae let us know the secret to become high roller? Thank you very much, I appreciate all your feedback!

  3. Hi Cindy,
Thanks for checking my blog. These were all comped. Otherwise we're not gonna order this much food for two people. Back in 2008, most offers we were receiving included free food at select restaurants, meaning there was no limit for the amount, just anything we wanna order, we could. We weren't high rollers, but we were going to Vegas quite often. While you keep going, they'll keep sending you offers. I don't know how to become high rollers, but back in 2007-2008, we were playing mostly $1 slots, sometimes $5. But now, the casinos are cutting so much comps, and they are not giving good comps anymore like they used to.

Thank you so much for replying so fast. We are so excited that you are so kind to get back to us. We are planning to go next month, and we would love advise from you. Would you say MGM Mirage is better or Harrah's? Comp wise and all the food/room? Would you recommend any hosts at any of the property? We do both table and slots. Thank you so much!

  5. I'm not sure which one is better since we haven't got any good offers lately from either MGM and Harrah's. But personally I don't like Harrah's.

You should think which place you like to play and you'd like to receive offers from, and you should play there.
