Otomisan - East L.A.

I've been wanting to go this place and I finally went there earlier this month.
This tiny hole in the wall restaurant has only 3 booths and a counter. We were there right before dinner time so we didn't have to wait at all. 20 minutes later, there were line. While we were here, someone was screaming "someone's car is getting ticket!" so watch out.

There were only one Japanese lady serving in front and the service was little slow. Also  I think yelp reviews are overrated. It wasn't good as I expected. But maybe whichever I ordered wasn't good and if I order something else, maybe I'm gonna like it..? Well, if I ever go back, I wanna try tempura or curry.

I ordered beef teriyaki and pork cutlet dinner combination $12.50
comes with rice and miso soup

Unfortunately, pork cutlet was too tough and not juicy. For beef teriyaki, I didn't think I'm getting thinly sliced beef, so that was little disappointed and it was tasteless.

The Classic Coffee - Downtown, L.A.

Downtown L.A. is a  hot spot now. They are keep opening more and more coffee bars and restaurants.  I love it. Not too long ago, Coffee Colab opened in DTLA, and now The Classic coffee. Big open space (like Bar Nine), serving intelligentsia coffee and pastries from Bread Lounge.

Bite at the Beach 2014 in Manhattan Beach

Last Saturday, I went to Bite at the Beach event. If you love beer and food, this is the event for you. The event was big success, it was crowded but not too crowded so I can still grab the food easily and they didn't run out the food. I wish there were more tables.

EXHIBIT R - Pasadena

About 2-3 weeks ago, I went to Exhibit R grand opening party in Pasadena. It's sandwich / cafe and it's connected with Tom N Tom's. Congrats to Jeremiah (He used to be the chef at Haus).

I really like the space. It's nice place to hang out or with your laptop. And everything is under $10.

This is "Culture Shock" half size from the menu. $8

Pulled pork, hickory smoked Korean chili paste, sweet red onion, cilantro on sourdough batard, served with salad. Lots of pork with a touch of spiciness. We all liked it.
