Izakaya Gazen - Little Tokyo

This place used to be Fickle. I would say this is my second favorite Japanese Izakaya restaurant in Little Tokyo. *My favorite in Little Tokyo is Kinjiro. The service was awesome, they were friendly, and also keep checking us so we never had to ask for refill, etc. The food was good.

Homemade tofu sampler$10.75
black sesame, original, creamy
They were all very creamy.

Grilled beef tongue with homemade salt base onion sauce $13

Gazen style deep fried chicken $7.50
It's marinated so it was flavorful.

Ahi Poke $12.50

Omelet noodle $9.75
Japanese style yakisoba noodle with simmered beef and dashi infused omelet

Torotaku ( negitoro + takuan pickle) $7.50
Just some simple cut roll and that's what I wanted. delicious.

Cream "OHAGI" $6.50
Mochi rice mousse with vanilla ice cream and azuki cream sauce
This was my least favorite. Just because I don't like ohagi in general. Ohagi is made with sticky rice and it's sweet. Personally, I don't like any desserts made with sticky rice.

Sweet potato mochi with earl grey sauce $6.50
Homemade sweet potato mochi with vanilla ice cream and sweet black tea syrup
Now this was very good, deep fried sweet potato mochi and sweet potato chip on top.
