Frances - Little Tokyo

Frances bakery in Little Tokyo. Very Japanese-style cakes. All fine, but because most of them are made with kinda the same sponge cakes I started getting bored with the flavors. Or maybe my choice wasn't good? Still, if I'm in the neighborhood, I don't mind to come here and try some other cakes.

Domino $3.25

Mango Passion $3.25

Mont Blanc around $4.50

Green Tea Red Beans $4.25

Payard Patisserie & Bistro - Caesars Palace, June 2008

One of our favorite places to eat, Payard at Caesars Palace. Part of the reason we really like this place is because everything is homemade, no pre-made instant stuff. They used to have a dessert tasting menu for dinner or something like that, but they don't have it anymore.

I ordered eggs benedict and it was sooo good. The best eggs benedict I ever had, although I don't know how many times I've had it before. What I remember is I had crab benedict at MGM cafe and it was awful and it cost the same price.

My husband ordered the nicoise salad, because he always wanted have a nicoise salad and they had it. He loved it. We also ordered soup of the day, it was rich and creamy but too heavy for me.

Cream Pan - Tustin, CA

I finally found my favorite bakery in California. Probably my personal best bakery around Los Angeles. Every single item I bought was excellent. You could easily find the same taste of this bakery in Japan, but it's so hard to find here in America. The only problem is that they close at 4pm and it's located in O.C. We got here a little before 2pm and already more than half of their items were gone, also the bread I wanted was sold out.

Everything is pretty reasonably priced compared to other bakeries with this quality. The ciabatta bread kinda looked bad to me, but when we sliced it, it looked pretty good. We made panini or something, and it was very good.

Prices I wrote might be mixed up.

bread $2
It's good itself, but when I toasted it and put on butter, it was REALLY good.

blueberry danish $2

croissant $1.60

sweet potato $1.50

azuki cream pan $2.70

Sundance Grill - Silverton casino

Sundance Grill at Silverton casino. The food and service, both fine. It's not fine-dining food, it's more like food you make at home. The shrimp scampi had so many big shrimps. You don't get this many shrimps at restaurants on the Strip.

Fried Calamari, $7.95
