This is a secret manga kissa (cafe) in Little Tokyo. It look like closed but once you walk inside, you feel like you are at the local coffee shop in Japan. They have so many Japanese manga comics (in Japanese), I can easily spend 3 hours here.

Ah yes, this is so Japanese. There are flan, whipped cream, ice cream, sliced bananas, cherry, pocky, corn flakes, chocolate sauce.. My childhood dessert.LOVE it.

I am a dessertholic. I found one of my favorite place in L.A.  I've been wanting to come here for so long and now I'm in love. It was raining but still this place was busy. You can eat here or just grab some sandwiches or pastries to go. They also carry cheese, coffee, tea, etc. Check their website. They have breakfast and lunch menu online.

So pretty here.

I never had pretzel croissant so I had to try it. 

Frutti di Bosco
It was probably around $5.
I'm in love. Oh my.. all I can say is SOOOO GOOD. It's like frozen chantilly cream between tart, topped with berries. This dessert was one of the best dessert I've had in 2011.

I had my birthday free meal at Rubio's. I think it was free up to $7 or something. So my burrito was maybe around $6-$7? Well, it was free. I do know the burrito is high calories. I was trying to pick healthy one and ended up getting healthmex chicken burrito. I also tried to not eat too much chips since they are high calories too. Yeah, I think that small portion of chips has easily 200kcal.

Healthmex chicken burrito

Grilled chicken with rice, black beans, salsa fresca and roasted chipotle salsa. Wrapped a toasted whole grain tortilla.

When I was in the area, I decided to stop by at Literati Cafe. Inside the cafe was packed so I sat down outside. They have some yummy looking pastries. Apple pie or torte is not my favorite but somehow it looked very good to me. It was tall, torte was filled with apples and it wasn't too sweet like I was worried. My cappuccino was just average.

When this place was opened, everyone was so excited. This place was all over the media but I'm sorry, I didn't like my donuts at all. They were overpriced and too sweet for me. Each donut is around $3. You only get 3 donuts for $10. Really? What a waste.. It's not worth paying that much.
