Irish coffee house - West Hollywood

I came here to kill some time. This place is so tiny, there were total 4 tables on the first floor and they were so close to each other so you can hear what people are talking about. Since I like cafes in Koreatown, this is not the place for me. This place is ok if you just wanna grab coffee and pastries to go on the way to work, but not the place I wanna stay.

Cafe Latte (S) $2.60 and chocolate croissant $2.75
My latte look like cappuccino. Nothing special.

Maybe there were total about 1 teaspoonful of chocolate inside, but really, chocolate parts were only outside. And I must say, pastries at whole foods are better than this. I guess this place doesn't care about the quality of the pastries.

Purgatory pizza - Downtown

This hole in the wall type of pizza place is located east of Downtown L.A. I never had a chance to come here because this place close early. But I finally tried last week. We already had dim sum lunch, so we were not so hungry. We each got a slice of pepperoni pizza. The pizza was not good as we expected. I like Papi's pizza better than here.

Fig & Olive - West Hollywood

It was back in October, 2011, I finally had a chance to come here. It was still Dine LA week so we ordered from Dine LA menu, and also from regular menu.

I really enjoyed the food. I also like that big open space.
Fig & Olive serves the food that I normally don't eat (which is great), and everything really tasted fresh.

Dine LA menu (Oct. 2011) $28
I chose soup, Tajin, and Crostini

Delicious bread. Brioche, croissant, raisin bread, baguette,,, this basket was filled with my favorite breads!

Really delicious jams. I bet they are homemade.

Peanut Butter Banana Muffins

I have 6 peanut butter at home and I need to used them so I made peanut butter banana muffins. This recipe is easy, and also use no butter and no eggs.

I also used Nordic Ware mini bundt cupcake pan.

Recipe adapted from a full measure of happiness

Peanut Butter Banana Muffins

2 ripe bananas
1/3 cup honey
1/3 cup peanut butter
2/3 cup fat-free plain yogurt
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/8 cup sugar
1 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
cinnamon sugar for topping (optional)

1.Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.  Line muffin tins with baking cups and lightly spray with canola oil.
2.Mix the wet ingredients together–mashed banana, honey, peanut butter, yogurt, and vanilla.  In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients (flours, salt, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and cinnamon).
3.Add the wet and dry together and stir until just combined–overmixing leads to tough muffins.
4.Spoon the batter into the muffin tin until the cups are 3/4 full, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, and bake on the middle rack in the oven for 15 minutes.

Boba 7 - Downtown, L.A.

New hidden boba place in Downtown! It's located inside Soi 7. Just walk in, keep going straight back.
They have yelp check-in special, it's $1 off. Sweet.

I like this place because they have some unique boba drinks such as alcoholic boba drink, horchata with honey boba, and green apple green tea.Yogurt soju and boba? I never thought about it. I've gotta try that.

menu

Horchata with honey boba $4 and taro mochi bun $1.50. I used $1 off so the total was $4.50.

Taro mochi bun is from flour + tea in Pasadena. Flour + Tea is one of the place I've been wanting to go since their opening day, but I never got a chance to go but now, I can get in DTLA!
