Yabu Restaurant - West L.A.

We wanted to eat soba so we came here. Yabu specialize in Japanese soba noodles, which is made out of buckwheat and wheat flours. Soba noodles are known as healthy eatery. It is low in calories and abundant in many minerals.

Yes, they have sushi here.

sushi menu

Tsukidashi (complimentary bean sprouts with sesame oil)

Yamakake - cold $9
grated Japanese yam, spinach and sprouts

You dip noodles in soba soup.

Ah yes, it's so healthy. I enjoyed this.

Kamo seiro - duck - cold $14
broiled duck meat and Japanese scallions

You can tell they are homemade

Duck caught my eye so I got that. I wanted cold soba so I ordered this from under "cold noodles" on the menu, but the soup was not cold, it was hot. Oh well..

Zenzai $5.50
Baked mochi with red bean
It was little too soupy. But not too sweet and I liked mochi.
