Flamingo - Diamond Lounge

Diamond Lounge at the Flamingo. Located next to Voga restaurant. This Diamond Lounge sucks. Sushi rice was hard, and there was a tiny bug (much smaller than ants) on one of my desserts that was still alive and walking around on my dessert. I couldn't eat anything after I saw it.

SOYJOY nutrition bar - raisin almond

I had a coupon for one free so I got this. It was 99 cents at regular price. I usually don't eat nutrition bars, so I don't know so much if these things taste good or not. Probably not. But this Soyjoy raisin almond was actually good. I could eat it. I actually do wanna try their apple and berry flavors.

Silver Panda - Chatsworth, CA

Silver Panda in Chatsworth, CA. Located in a shopping center. The service was OK, but the food sucked. All I can say is everything we ate here was so bad we couldn't finish eating, and we will not come back. I felt so dirty when I was gonna eat our appetizers, because there were some bits of cloth stuck to the egg rolls.

Pupu Tray (for two), $8.95
Assortment of appetizers, served on a tray with flame in the center. Includes egg rolls, fried shrimp, fried wontons, paper-wrapped chicken, rumaki, and teriyaki beef

Chicken Lo mein, $6.95
The meat tasted cheap and weird.

Assorted seafood in edible basket, $13.95
Shrimp, imitation crab, scallops and assorted vegetables sauteed in chef's special sauce in an edible flower basket.

Yaki-Kui - Canyon Country

Yaki-Kui in Canyon Country, California. This was in 2007. To me, this place is like a copy store of Gyu-Kaku except this place has all you can eat. We were here for dinner buffet, $19.95 each. Total $43.19. If you think about ordering individually, it's good deal, but I'm not sure if this food is worth $20 each. I wasn't so happy about what I got. Gyu-kaku tastes much better than here, of course. I had to say this because the owner actually said to me that he thinks Gyu-kaku tastes so-so and he thinks Yaki-Kui tastes better. I'm sorry, but I don't think so.

The only things that tasted fine here were the salad and the white rice. Also the server and the owner were friendly. I don't remember so much but I think I didn't like their marinade. Especially for chicken and pork. And I'm sorry to say this, but "I don't remember the tastes" means "I don't have to remember the tastes". If it's good food, I'll remember.

So here's all the food we ate. It doesn't look so like much food for all you can eat, but we were so full and I couldn't finish eating everything.

Tofu salad

Seafood salad

Gyoza
I must say this is not gyoza, this is deep-fried wontons.

Chicken yakitori, I think, though it looks like chicken teriyaki.
Whichever it is, I wasn't happy with this. Tasted very American Asian.

Tempura
I don't remember if it was good or not.

Sunomono
It's very different from what sunomono is supposed to be. It was like eating raw cabbage marinated in vinegar.

No flavor salmon

Pork

Probably it's chicken

Luxor - Tower Deluxe Room

Luxor Tower Deluxe room. It's like a motel. Hard bed, uncomfortable pillows. When we asked for feather pillows, they brought us more regular uncomfortable pillows, so we asked again the next day, and they said "We only have few feather pillows... blah blah blah..." So are you saying we can't have nice pillows because they don't have so many? Are they saving the nicer pillows for Paris Hilton? Anyway, they finally brought us feather pillows.

When I went to bathroom, I saw Bath and Body Works shampoos, lotions, soaps etc. I was so happy because they finally had a good brand that actually does the job. Most casino lotions are so cheap, and they don't moisturize at all, same thing shampoo and other things. Anyway, so we asked for more lotions and soaps and other stuff, and I couldn't believe it when they brought us their old "Luxor" lotions, shampoos, and tiny soaps. They didn't give us Bath and Body Works. I was so pissed off. Not only that, this was our second day, we called for housekeeping, when we came back to the room, it was still dirty, no, they didn't clean our room BUT they left new towels. They don't clean the room but they leave new towels?? Again, I was so pissed off. I was so shocked.

I will never ever stay here again.

Flamingo -Voga (CLOSED)

Just opened up at the end of December at Flamingo. We were gonna go to the Italian restaurant that used to be here, before Voga. We didn't know they closed and opened up Voga.
Hard to believe it's at the Flamingo casino. Inside the restaurant is very cool. Would be nice place to hang out with friends around my age.

Let's talk about food. I did like the fact they have "shared plates". Because you can try different things. But the prices are too high for what you get. All the food below totaled $100. Sure, we used our Total Rewards money, but if I'm paying cash from my wallet, I'd be pissed. When we ordered water, I asked for regular water, and the waitress brought Fiji bottled water, which we had to pay $5.50 for instead of free. She said "This water is delicious". Well, you know what, I can't tell the difference of water and I don't care if it's good or not. I didn't ask for it.

Our calamari, shrimp, crab cakes were all just OK. It's not a bad taste, but it's not delicious. OK, I should just say so-so. Yeah, I can eat it, but I wouldn't order it again.
But I do wanna come back for their desserts, especially for "fried twinkles". Are they gonna fry twinkles? Or is it Twinkies?

Bread

Fried lime calamari & baby scallops $14

Colossal scampi with pear, tomato, basil $15

Crab cake and caviar $17

Sea bass with rock shrimp risotto $34
This was my husband's entree. I tasted the risotto and it was undercooked. Too hard! He liked the fish, but rice was not cooked, and it needed more sauce, he said.

Zen Garden Souvenirs of Indonesia with red berries, pot de creme $8

Very rich chocolate cake

I think our waitress said that the cream is creme brulee custard.
This custard was actually very good.
