Chibaki-ya instant ramen cup noodle

When we were at Mitsuwa in October 2009, I saw this Chibaki-ya ramen and Mitsuwa collaboration ramen. I believe it's only available at Mitsuwa supermarkets. This one ramen almost cost $3. It's pretty expensive for cup noodles.

To me, it was probably the best instant noodle I ever had. Soup was tasty and noodle was very thin (which my husband didn't like).

Here's the directions.

Open lid, pour hot water up to the line.

Cover. *I usually put plate or pot as lid.

3 minutes later. Add soups. Mix.

Put seaweed on top. Ready to eat.

Stratosphere - Lucky's Cafe 2009

I don't know how many times we've been here, but we came here a lot. The food is actually getting better than a couple years ago. Or maybe depends on what you order, it can be good or awful. From my experience, they know how to cook basic American food (like pancake, ham, eggs, sausage, that kind of stuff), but they can't cook more fancy stuff, like crab cake.

Everytime we come here, on average we wait 30 minutes after we order food.

toast and pancakes

2 eggs with sausage (or bacon) $3.99
(served from 12am-5am with this price)
Served with O'Brien potatoes, toast and jelly.

ham steak & eggs $5.99
Two eggs any style, O'Brien potatoes, toast and your choice of silver dollar pancakes or French toast.

seafood sampler $12.99

sauteed shrimp
All I could taste was butter. It's like shrimp in melted butter. Too much. Not recommended. I mean, look at it, why is this called "sauteed shrimp"? Shrimp is swimming in butter soup.

calamari
The only part I liked from seafood sampler. It was much better than when we had calamari here back in 2008.

crab cake
Simply awful. Whoever made this doesn't know how to make crab cake.

Build Your Own Burger $9.49
($7.99 + provolone $0.75 + bacon $0.75)

One half-pounder served with crisp lettuce, tomato, onion and a pickle.

This was my husband's order. He liked it.

Stratosphere - Romance Suite

Romance Suite at Stratosphere. There were 2 TVs and fridge, also coffee maker. There is a big hot tub in middle of the room. Also we had 3 nights here, but we never got room cleaned.

Room wasn't so bad, but we like to have our bathroom more private. Also we like to have more TV channels (this room only had basic channels). So unless they build a door for the bathroom and have more TV channels, and clean the room every day, we won't sleep here.

There are folding doors, so you can watch TV while you are in the tub, but you have to make sure to close that door when you use the bathroom. But this door doesn't close 100%, it's closed, but it's not so you can hear noise while you are using the bathroom.

Stratosphere - Fellini's 2009

Our second time trying this place. Again, the food was good, and portions were big, especially the entree. We knew this place served big portions, so we tried to not order so much food this time. But these 3 plates were too much food for us, and we had leftovers again.

This time the service wasn't so good. Our waiter forgot that we ordered a Coke, so we cancelled it. All other tables had bread but we didn't. We had to ask to our waiter to bring us the bread. When we wanted to get refills of our water, we didn't see our waiter around and had to wait forever.

Antipasti Freddi $14.95
A cold assortment of smoked meats, imported cheeses, roasted peppers, marinated eggplant, zucchini, artichoke hearts, and olives.

Lobster Tail Mediterranean $30.95
Half a Brazilian lobster tail, New Zealand green lip mussels, clams, shrimp, scallops and calamari stewed in a sauce of garlic, white wine, tomatoes and half herbs. Served on a bed of linguine.

They also have Linguine Mediterranean for $21.95. I think the only difference is the lobster tail.
This was a huge portion. We shared of course. This plate is probably enough for 3 people. You can guess how big they are by looking at the forks. Also you almost can't see, but there's linguine under the seafood.

Scallops Trattoria $12.95
Sea scallops sauteed with artichoke hearts, roast red peppers in a shallot-Dry Vermouth-cream sauce.

This is our appetizer. I usually don't like anything with cream sauce, but I liked this one. I can recommended this dish even if you don't like cream sauce. The sauce was very tasty, and it wasn't so heavy.

Tender shrimp lightly tossed in a Cajun batter and fried to a golden brown. Served on a bed of angel-hair onion rings with Creole tartar sauce.
