Bally's - Grand Suite Room

Grand Suite at Bally's. According to their website, they seem to have only two types of rooms, one is the standard room, and one is this grand suite. First night, we didn't realize that the air conditioner was broken, and it was fucking cold, so we had to call the next day to fix it.
Good thing about this room is that has a spa, and 2 separate sinks, and they were big enough for me to put all my stuff. Also there's coffee. Bad thing about this room is that they need to update the room. If you look carefully, there is mold, cracks, all that stuff. And no mini bar or fridge. Also the room was located the very end of the floor. Most suites at MGM hotels (Monte Carlo, MGM, TI, etc.) are located very close to the elevator, but not Harrah's casinos.

Stratosphere - Roxy's Diner, Nov. 2007

Roxy's Diner at Stratosphere. CLICK HERE for more pics of Roxy's Diner.
Again, we received everything in about 3-5 minutes, even spaghetti. It can't be fresh. I was disappointed when I got a no-taste dry white bread tuna sandwich, I wanted my bread toasted and I thought that's how I'm gonna get it as I saw the picture on the menu, or at least the waiter should ask. My husband was still hungry after he had a half-pound burger, so he ordered spaghetti marinara. He said it tasted like store-bought jar sauce, not delicious. But I did like my float. It's like a milk shake.

I do recommend this place for quick meals, but not for quality food.

Float (in souvenir bottle) $5.99

The Roxy's Burger $7.49 + fries $1.29
One half-pound burger served with lettuce, tomato and onion.

Tuna Salad Sandwich $7.49

Kappo Seafood - Torrance, CA

Kappo Seafood in Torrance. To me, this is kinda like hidden place, because the outside of the restaurant looks like a cheap Japanese fast food to go place. But inside was very different from what I thought. You can see pictures of inside the restaurant on their website. This place was very busy with mostly Japanese customers. My husband and one other couple were the only Americans, all other customers were Japanese.

Service was fine, but the food was amazing. Everything was just so good. I'm not gonna write how each dish was, because really everything was good. Now I'm posting so many pics below, but I'm not sure which items are for Lady's Set or Sushi Set. The waitress just kept bringing one at a time.

We ordered Sushi Set ($38) and Lady's Set ($30). All total was $79 and yes, unlike Vegas, we paid our own money for this place. If you go for lunch, they have a lunch menu with reasonable prices.

Egg sushi $4.50
It was sweeter, tasted homemade, it was just good.

First, we both got these.

I'm not sure what this is but it was good.

Some kind of alcohol drink.

I'm sorry, but I'm not familiar with this. I never had this before.

Chawanmushi
It's a steamed custard.

Clear broth soup

Seafood salad

Sushi

Tempura

Shrimp salad

Pork (?), egg, edamame and squid, I think

Some kind of thin noodle

Pickles

Miso soup

Rice

Salmon teriyaki

Warabi mochi and tea

Clear mochi coated with kinako powder. It's one of the traditional Japanese desserts, some of you may not like these.
