Amore Patisserie - Mandarin Oriental, Las Vegas City Center (CLOSED)

Amore Patisserie, located outside Mandarin Oriental hotel, Las Vegas City Center. It's also behind the CVS next to Monte Carlo.

Here, you can buy gelato/Ice cream, also pastries, and coffee drinks. Staff here were all so friendly and nice. Because this is located at the Mandarin Oriental hotel, of course everything is pricey, but if you are here, you should try it out at least once. It's really good.

These and the next picture are the only pastries they have. Prices are $5-$8 each. Yes, they are pricey, but they all really looked good.

I tasted green tea and watermelon. Watermelon was so tasty and really refreshes your mouth. I wanted to buy it, but it's $8 for 9oz cup. Too expensive.

Somebody else's gelato

Here's what we got. Each one was $6. They smelled so good and they were delicious.
One was raspberry and custard inside, other one was like bear claw.

New largest Korean supermarket in Vegas, "Greenland". (It's in Chinatown, about 5 minutes from T.I.). It's almost the same size as Galleria or any Korean supermarket in L.A. Also only 1 or 2 food court places open so far.

Las Vegas marathon. People started screaming around 6 am and I couldn't sleep until 10 am.

Beau Monde and Chipotle Chili challenge

I recently received these spices, and I wasn't sure what I was gonna make so I made these.

Beau Monde has a strong celery smell. Ingredients: salt, dextrose, onion, celery seed, and silicon dioxide.

I made bacon-wrapped shrimp, some with Chipotle Chili spice, and some with Beau Monde spice.

All you need is:
lard, bacon, shrimp, and spices.

Before I started cooking, I cleaned the shrimp with cornstarch and sake to remove some fishy smells. Then I heated a cast iron skillet. Once skillet is heated, add the lard. Meanwhile, I seasoned shrimps with spices (Beau Monde and Chipotle Chili), then wrapped with bacon. Just don't season with too much Chipotle Chili, or it's gonna be too spicy. Cook until done.

This is potato tacos. Basically, we had leftover (cooked) potatoes and corn tortillas. All you do is cut potatoes, season with Chipotle Chili, place potatoes and a little bit cheese on tortillas, and cook in skillet until cheese is melted. That's it.

Planet Hollywood - Spice Market Buffet

Last week, we were in Vegas and we were not planning to eat at Planet Hollywood at all. We came here to play slots, but we didn't bring our players club card, so we went to the players club to get the cards. At the same time, they gave us a coupon book, including 2 free buffets if you earn 100 points. So we earned the points and got 2 free buffets. This was Sunday lunch, and normally it costs $22.99 a person.

We were hungry and we liked the first couple of plates. But then around 3-4 plates later, I started realizing how bad the food was. I liked the Indian food here, such as chicken tikka, curry, and rice with almond and raisin, but that's all I liked.

I ordered orange juice and it was cheap quality.

Our server did a good job, we didn't have any finished plates stacked on the table while we were there for 2 hours.

This Asian section was so empty while we were there. Nobody was getting food. It all looked pretty dry and nasty.

Flan was too hard. All other stuff wasn't so good either.

Dry. Not delicious. Can't eat.
