Encore Las Vegas hotel room

Encore Las Vegas hotel room. It's very nice. Rooms are close to elevators. Everyday, there were 2 complimentary bottles of water on the desk. We stayed 3 nights and I was very tired, but I couldn't have deep sleep at all. Maybe the bed or pillow wasn't so comfortable for me. It looked fine to me, but I was keep waking up every hour every night. Also the Encore has a big menu of the room service (but expensive).

I don't have any complaint about the room, but be sure to check your bill on the TV a day before you check out. Somehow, we had got charges for a spa fee that we didn't use. We had to fill out a dispute form saying that we didn't charge anything. Casinos make mistakes like this all the time. It happened at The Palazzo before. They charged us $100 for food at the cafe, and we didn't eat there. My husband had to fill out the form there, too.

It says: "Feel free to read the ingredients or count the calories. If you decide to indulge.. and we hope you do.. items that are removed for longer than 60 seconds will be charged directly to your guest account. Placing other items inside the bar may also incur charges to your guest account. Refrigerators for personal items are available through housekeeping."

We were hungry so we bought this at the snack shop. This little bag was $4. It was good though. I wanted more like a sandwich, but Encore doesn't have a late-night place for sandwiches. We asked but they said we have to go to Wynn.

The Kona Crisp - Valencia, CA

The Kona Crisp in Valencia, CA. Two burgers, two soft drinks and onion rings total was $23. We thought that was too expensive for burgers. I thought the taste was just all right. I didn't taste anything special. This was in July 2008, and I haven't back there since. The service was fine, the burger was tall, not like the crushed burger like you get at Burger King. But the burger was too tall for me, it was kinda hard to eat.

Kailua pork sandwich $6.89
A house specialty. Lots of succulent and flavorful house-smoked pork, slow cooked till fork tender, then pulled and covered with our tangy BBQ sauce (Classic or Spicy) and finished with our freshly made Island Coleslaw.

Kona veggie burger $6.89
A seasoned veggie patty. Made Classic style with our homemade garlic mayo and all the produce.

onion rings $3.99

Four Queens - Chicago Brewing Company

Chicago Brewing Company Brew Pub at Four Queens. We love it here. It's cheap, good food, and friendly staff. If you like beer, try it. We've never had the beer here, but it's supposed to be good. So far, everything tasted fresh. My husband had a pizza, but he said he didn't really like it. But we liked everything else. Don't go to the Four Queens cafe. If you are thinking to go there, come here instead. This place is open late, but not 24 hours. The prices are not so much different from the cafe, but the taste is 100 times better.

Market Wrap $7.45 ($7.75 now)
choice of ham, roast turkey, roast beef or corned beef rolled in a spinach tortilla with a southwestern slaw, lettuce, sliced tomato and sliced red onion

It was big, I could only eat half.

Build Your Own Pizza (10inch) $6.99 (it's $8.99 now) + $4 toppings = $10.99 (pineapple, peppers, artichoke, spinach)

Midwest Potato Skins $4.75 (It's $5.25 now)
five skins loaded with bacon, cheddar and green onions

Flash Fried Calamari $8.95
fresh made calamari, flash fried, served with marinara sauce and roasted garlic aioli

Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail $10.95
five jumbo shrimp served with cocktail sauce and horseradish

We've ordered this shrimp cocktail several times. Always big, fresh, and delicious.

Spicy Chicken Salad $8.95
crisp salad greens with warm strips of spicy fried chicken breast, tomato, cucumber, red onion, sliced mushrooms and sliced radish tossed with a honey mustard vinaigrette

Vegetables were fresh, chicken was tasty and very good, vinaigrette was very good, too.

Michigan Ave. Cheese Knots (half order) $3.95
garlic and cheese laced knots served with marinara sauce

This is the half portion, but it's really enough for 2 or 3 people.

Red Rock Casino - Salt Lick BBQ

Salt Lick BBQ at Red Rock Casino. Texas's famous BBQ restaurant. Now, I'm not the BBQ person and I kept saying I don't wanna eat here, but my husband really wanted to eat here.
We both didn't like it. It's just not the type of the food we eat. I won't say it's a bad taste, we just don't eat it and don't like it. If you grew up eating this type of food, you may like this place.

The bread was really soft, but taste wasn't good.

Shrimp Diablo $14.99
Bacon-Wrapped Shrimp, stuffed with pickled jalapenos & onions. Grilled and basted with Salt Lick's famous spicy Bar-B-Que sauce.

Combination Bar-B-Que Meats (with mac & cheese, and beans) $15.99
slow smoked brisket, smoked link sausage, and slow-cooked ribs

We both didn't like the ribs and sausage. Sausage was very greasy, it was like the one you see at a cheap buffet.

India Sweets and Spices - Los Angeles

India Sweets and Spices. I believe this was a 2-item combo and cost about $5 (but I'm not sure). The food sucks. This is the first Indian place I didn't like. I specially hated the orange stuff in the picture below. I don't know what that is, but I hated it. I think it was extremely sweet. I don't know which 2 items are in the picture, but it was something I never had before. I think one is okra. Also I like my Indian food with naan, I don't like all other Indian bread.
