Edwards frozen creme pie, Key lime pie

Edwards frozen pies.

This creme pie using Nestle Crunch was good. I love Crunch. But I think it was just too much chocolate, a really heavy piece of pie. I don't know about you, but this pie made me feel sick, too rich for me.

Key lime pie was just Key lime pie, it was good but nothing special. Just good.

Sushimi - Valencia, CA

OK, this place is probably gonna go out of business soon. When we were there, there were almost no customers, and the waitress was playing with a customer's baby. Some nigiri sushi pieces were not so expensive compared to other sushi restaurants, but they serve very tiny slices of non fresh sushi. Taste was below average.

Edamame

Gyoza $5.95
I'm not sure if I can eat this as gyoza. They need to change it from gyoza to deep-fried wontons.

Albacore and eggs

Spicy tuna rolls $3.95 and spicy shrimp crab roll $4.25

Tempura appetizer $6.95

Dynamite $6.95
gross

From left: white tuna $3.75, albacore $2.95, egg $2.75

Ichi roll $9.95
Sushi shrimp on top of shrimp tempura, cucumber and avocado roll
makes me sick - sorry, MADE me sick

Sushi combination A (lunch $10.95, dinner $13.95)
Tuna, salmon, albacore, white fish, shrimp, egg and California roll (6 pc)
Yes, I know, there are 8 pieces, not 6 pieces. I don't know why

Look how small the sushi pieces are. Not only small, but also very thin, and not fresh.

California Pasta Productions - Valencia (CLOSED)

California Pasta Productions in Valencia, CA.
Everything tasted so-so. They made our order wrong. They cut pizza not evenly, and also topping was not even. As you can see in the pictures below of the first pizza, some of the slices don't have any olives, and some have too many. Also the crust was bended. Their pizza crust is very thin and crispy, like crackers.

Bread was good.

Garlic Prawns & Basil $13.99
Mushrooms & Roma tomatoes sauteed in an olive oil wine sauce. Served with linguine.

It was a pretty big portion.

This is the pizza that they made so wrong.

Below is the correct pizza, it was free since they made our order wrong.

Italian Sausage Pizza $10.99
Mild sausage, marinara sauce, red bell peppers, onions, Roma tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese.

Blimpie - 12" club sub

Blimpie 12" club sandwich, which is ham, turkey and cheese. We got with no cheese, and half ham, half turkey. I don't like turkey and my husband doesn't like deli ham. It's $6.89, we had a $2 off coupon so it was $4.89 for 12 inches. We got this inside Walmart, and the menu seems to be smaller than the regular store. Taste was OK. But I prefer Subway. The difference between Subway and Blimpie is that Blimpie has roasted peppers!
I just can't believe how fast food is getting more expensive. I was watching a Food Network show last night, and they said when Domino's just opened their first store, a whole Domino's pizza was $1.10. Now one sub costs $7.

Francesco's - Treasure Island

Francesco's Italian restaurant at Treasure Island casino.Portion: small (which I like so I can try different things)
Price: some reasonable, some not
Taste: average
Service: OK
Do I go back to Francesco's?: no

bread

Veal-stuffed fried olives $5
It was very tiny pieces. Taste was pretty bad.

Fresh sheep's milk ricotta, warm beets, parsley salad $12
Taste was good.

Daily special: seafood appetizer sampler $30
Crab cake tasted like frozen pre-made, not delicious at all, scallops and shrimp had no taste. You probably can't tell from just seeing the picture but it was a very small plate. $30? You must be kidding me.

Daily special $34
Chicken, purple mashed potato, veggies.
Inside the restaurant is very dark, you can't see the color of the food you are eating. You'll finally see the color of the food when you take pictures.

Chicken was very salty, there were 2 pieces, I gave 1 1/2 pieces to my husband. This saltiness is killing me. Potato and veggie was fine.

Dessert was $13 for all 4. Each plate is very small portion, I'm sure you'll have enough room for them after all. Crepe, tiramisu, creme brulee was good, but chocolate cake, that's not for me.
Hazelnut Chocolate Cake

Warm Orange Chocolate Crepe

Tiramisu

Cooking at home - pork chops with salad and mashed potatoes

Cooking at home. For pork chops, we used Oven Fry Pork Chop mix. Mashed potatoes were Yukon Gold. The salad recipe is by Nathan Lyon from "A Lyon in the Kitchen" (we TIVO it). This was our first time using Nathan Lyon's recipe, and we liked our salad a lot. Very tasty. The pork chops were pretty bad.

2 cloves garlic, sliced
Red pepper flakes

Raise heat to medium-high; cook 5 minutes. Add linguine to boiling water. Cook until al dente.

Mesa Grill - Caesars Palace 2007

Lunch at Mesa Grill, Caesars Palace. Overall, everything was great. Bread was good, fried green tomato was delicious, parfait was soooo good. Burger took about 20 minutes, and tamale tasted different from when we ate before. CLICK HERE for pics from 2006. Tamale was the only thing that disappointed. It wasn't as good as before.
