July 2009 - Vegas and Food

Baja Fresh

Recently Baja Fresh had a special, buy a drink and get a free burrito.

So we both purchased drinks and we each got a free burrito. All the food below was total $3.50.

I never had Baja Fresh before, and my husband had food here almost 10 years ago, so it was kinda new to us. We both thought the food was average. We stopped eating less than half way. No way I'm gonna pay $7 for a burrito from here.

Burrrito Mexicano (bare style) $6.99
with beans, rice, steak

Burrito Ultimo with chicken $6.69
with no cheese, no sour cream

beans, rice, chicken, a little bit grilled vegetable

Tous Les Jours - Northridge, CA 2009

I like most pastries here at Tous Les Jours. Prices are not so bad, too. All the pastries below are between $1-$2. I wasn't crazy about the frank roll or pumpkin pastry. Melon pan, berry pastry, and an pan was fine. I liked croissant.

Treasure Island - Pizzeria Francesco's

Since the name of the restaurant is "Pizzeria" Francesco's, we wanted try their pizza, but we saw some other table's pizza and it didn't look good at all, so we ordered something else. We couldn't decide what we wanted to eat, so we just got calamari and tiramisu, and we shared. Nothing amazing. Food was just OK, although the calamari was really salty.

Calamari $12
spicy marinara/lemon aioli
It was salty. I wish the chefs tasted food before they serve.

Tiramisu ice cream sandwich $5
Too much liqueur to me. It's basically like tiramisu-flavored ice cream cake.

Treasure Island - The Coffee Shop 2009

We got to Vegas late at night, staying at Treasure Island, where we had food credits, and this was the only place open. We hate this place and we didn't wanna eat here, but we were hungry.

We shared a clubhouse sandwich from the late night menu. I don't know about the service and taste in the day, but this time the service was much better than before and the food was fine, we actually could eat it. We were shocked because the food and service here were awful before. I wonder if the food tasted better because of the new owner or maybe the chef and the workers changed, too? I'm not sure. But we also tried to order something they couldn't mess up. I mean, how could they make a club sandwich that tastes so bad, right?

Anyway, our sandwich was fine, and it was big enough to share.

The M Resort Spa & Casino Las Vegas - hotel room

We just got back from Vegas and stayed at The M Resort. The room was very nice. It was the perfect temperature in the room.

The M Resort is great place if you LOVE drinking. They have so many specials and happy hours at The M Resort. Also they are having FREE slot tournaments every Fri & Saturday. Yes, you could win some cash.

You have to insert your room key or the lights won't turn on.

There is a TV on the mirror. The TV is too high and you have to look up to watch TV, also if the TV is showing a movie with scenes at night, it's too dark and you can't see at all. Also we could hear TV sound from the next room. It was really loud, we could actually hear what the TV was saying.

You can see the Strip and looks really far away, but it only takes about 15 minutes from the Strip (without traffic). We also found out it only takes about 5 minutes to Green Valley Ranch from The M Resort.
