Treasure Island - The Coffee Shop 2009

We got to Vegas late at night, staying at Treasure Island, where we had food credits, and this was the only place open. We hate this place and we didn't wanna eat here, but we were hungry.

We shared a clubhouse sandwich from the late night menu. I don't know about the service and taste in the day, but this time the service was much better than before and the food was fine, we actually could eat it. We were shocked because the food and service here were awful before. I wonder if the food tasted better because of the new owner or maybe the chef and the workers changed, too? I'm not sure. But we also tried to order something they couldn't mess up. I mean, how could they make a club sandwich that tastes so bad, right?

Anyway, our sandwich was fine, and it was big enough to share.

The M Resort Spa & Casino Las Vegas - hotel room

We just got back from Vegas and stayed at The M Resort. The room was very nice. It was the perfect temperature in the room.

The M Resort is great place if you LOVE drinking. They have so many specials and happy hours at The M Resort. Also they are having FREE slot tournaments every Fri & Saturday. Yes, you could win some cash.

You have to insert your room key or the lights won't turn on.

There is a TV on the mirror. The TV is too high and you have to look up to watch TV, also if the TV is showing a movie with scenes at night, it's too dark and you can't see at all. Also we could hear TV sound from the next room. It was really loud, we could actually hear what the TV was saying.

You can see the Strip and looks really far away, but it only takes about 15 minutes from the Strip (without traffic). We also found out it only takes about 5 minutes to Green Valley Ranch from The M Resort.

Homemade Choco-berry Muffin

Homemade Chocoberry Muffin. I used recipe from this Japanese recipe site:

http://erecipe.woman.excite.co.jp/series/s_b/b144.html

Because the recipe is in Japanese and it's for Japanese, these muffins are much less sweet than American muffins, although this is normal sweetness in Japan.

Choco-Berry Muffin makes 8

cake flour 125g
bread flour 125g
baking powder 10g
unsalted butter 90g (room temperature)
sugar 110g
2 eggs
milk 100ml
raspberries 100g
strawberry chocolate 60g (like Meiji brand)

Preparation:
Sift cake flour, bread flour and baking powder together. Chop strawberry chocolate into small pieces. Set the oven to 170c (about 340F or so).

1. Using mixer or hand mixer, mix unsalted butter and sugar in a bowl until it gets white color.
2. Slowly add eggs to 1 and whisk together .
3. Add half of the flour and sugar mixture to 2, and slowly add milk. Once mixed well, add the rest of the flour and sugar mixture.
4. Add raspberries and chocolate to 3, mix with spatula.
5. Put in muffin cups, bake in170c oven for about 25 min.

Pagoda Inn - Northridge, CA

Pagoda Inn in Northridge. It's OK for Americanized Chinese, but as real Chinese food, which is what I want, this place is not the place I wanna eat. I should just go to Monterey Park or that area for Chinese food, but it's kinda far from where we live.

I think most Chinese restaurants here in America are cooked so Americans would like the taste. I mean, they are opening restaurants in America, so of course they will try to make food so Americans would eat. Because Asia and America has completely different taste, if you just make real taste (some of the dishes) here in America, they wouldn't like it, that's why they start changing taste little more for Americans. If you think Panda Express is the real Chinese food (I'm sure nobody thinks so), they are not. They are Americanized.

What I wanna say is that I can't seem to find good Chinese restaurant here in America. I've had so many bad Chinese restaurants, but some of the readers disagree, that's because I grew up in Asia, but the readers who don't agree with me grew up in America and the readers have been eating Americanized Chinese food, and I'm not. That's the difference. On Yelp, most people seems to like this place, I think that's because they've been eating this type of Chinese food only in America since they grew up, that's why they like this taste. But I'm not.

Your taste depends on what you were eating when you were a child, whatever you were eating in childhood, that's the base for your taste.

Coffee Bean - free 12 oz. ice blended coffee drinks July 1st

We just got these free 12oz. ice blended coffees. It's until 7pm today, July 1st!

I personally wouldn't pay for it, but I'll drink it for free. It's quite heavy, I started feeling sick. It tastes like peanut butter, also has caramel syrup, and it's very sweet. It's called Nutty Creme Caramel.

Red Robin - Blackened Bayou Burger

Red Robin Blackened Bayou Burger. $9.59. Again, my husband received e-mail birthday offer and it was free. It was tasty. I think I like burgers here. We don't like thick cut fries, but it's all-you-can-eat.
