It was back in December, I was invited to A Taste of Malaysian Christmas. This year, they held the event in Anaheim and I don't know what was going on this day, but the traffic from L.A. to O.C was ridiculous. Took us 2.5 hours to get there. We got there pretty late, but luckily, I guess everyone else were late also, it hadn't started yet. Anyways, I had great time again. I hope I can attend next year too!

We had some drinks and hors d'oeuvres  when we got there. I tried Anaheim Julip and it was super delicious.

Honey ginger fried tofu was tasty. We missed cooking demo but at least we got to taste it.

I came here for quick lunch before the movie. I checked yelp reviews and wasn't very good so I didn't really wanna eat, to be honest, but it was on Christmas day and most places were closed and long wait so we really didn't have a choice. This place was crowded but no wait so we decided to eat here. We just shared meatball pasta. It was overpriced and I didn't like meatballs. It didn't taste fresh.

I was invited to Kashira's grand opening tasting event. The owner and the sushi chefs are all Japanese. You get to try authentic Japanese food for very reasonable prices. I posted pics of the menu below so you can see it. They also have happy hour, 4-9pm, and 2 hours free parking! But if you are drinking a lot, you can take metro right in front of the restaurant.

I really enjoyed the food. Everything was very fresh.

Live Oyster was huge! So meaty and I loved it. Probably the biggest and thickest oysters I've ever had.

I tried ahi poke salad, spring roll, rice cake, sashimi and rolls.

Bara chirashi reminds me of my mom's homemade chirashi. It has kanpyo, shredded eggs and fresh seafood. We had sample size. When you order at the restaurant, you get bigger size of course.

Otoro Salmon, Uni, Scallop, Yellowtail, Bluefin Tuna. Delicious.

Tokyo Shoyu Ramen. I really liked their ramen.. really. Loved the thickness of the noodle and the flavor, of course. The picture below is small size.
