YukDaeJang - Koreatown

YukDaeJang just opened up in Koreatown, the first U.S. location. They have more than 165 stores in Korea. YukDaeJang isdpecializing Yuk Gae Jang (premium brisket and scallion in beef bone broth) and Bossam (sliced pork belly). So be sure to try them when you are here. I really liked Yuk gae jang with housemade noodles.

This isn't on the menu, but we got to try tiramisu made by the owner's wife. It was delicious and I had two of them.

Foodiecon 12.03-12.04

I checked out foodiecon earlier this month. I got to sample lots of products and got home with lots of freebies. There weren't many alcohol venders, mostly juice and food venders. Compared to the other food events, this event wasn't packed. But I enjoyed.

SomiSomi - Koreatown

It's been a few months since this place opened in Koreatown, right next to Sul & Beans. It's soft serve on taiyaki. Ice cream melts quickly and little messy to eat but it's yummy. It'll be nice if they have more flavors, and toppings.

I ordered milk + green tea swirl. with red bean inside. Yes, there's tiny amount of red bean inside taiyaki. One of us also got milk and green tea swirl but with custard inside. But very tiny amount of custard.

Elizavecca Korean skincare products

I recently received skincare products from Elizavecca. I love Korean skincare products and I use all the time. You know how Koreans have such a beautiful skin? I think Korean skincare products are  actually really works.

So I've been using following products for about two weeks now. All of them are basically good for whitening, pores, and wrinkle care.  I use mist spray every day, 2 times a day, using face mask 1-2 times a week, and using salicyl cream maybe 2-3 times a week and I definitely see the difference.

Elizavecca Milky- wear Salicyl Cream

Elizavecca Gold kangsipack

Salicyl Cream - So you put on your face and massage for 2-3 minutes, then leave it for about 15 minutes or so, and rinse it off. They do recommended to use it at night. This cream will whiten your skin and also makes smooth skin. Every time after I use this cream, my skin is super smooth and moisturized.

This is for good for whitening, wrinkle improvement, dead skin cell exfoliation, blackhead removal, sebum removal, and pore tightening. All skin type, especially good of sensitive skin.

And this is Gold kangsipack face mask, good for pores. After wash your face, you put on about 20 minutes, and rinse off. The color is gold as you can see, but it'll start changing to white.
5 minutes after I put on the mask. As you can see, the color is already changing from gold to white.
10 minutes later.
And about 15 minutes later

Grand Opening! Terra Cotta - Koreatown

I was lucky enough to be there during their soft opening tasting event. This place is absolutely beautiful, and the food was really good and they were using good quality ingredients. Everything was creative, specially their desserts. But the food came out really slow. It took 90 minutes to get our second appetizer, which was little crazy. But other than that, this is my currant top 5 place to eat in Ktown!

My ginger beer

We didn't like that they serve champagne in a wine glass, and my straw was too shot so it was difficult to drink. Hope they'll fix that.

Maine lobster salad $19
- heirloom tomatoes, mizuna. white balsamic and grape vinaigrette

Absolutely lovely dish. Tomatoes were so sweet and juicy.

Grilled octopus $19
- kochujang romesco, korean pickles, roasted garlic

Crispy smelts $19
- tempura smelts, red onion & cilantro, ama ponzu
Again, they use sweet and juicy tomatoes, and I'm really happy about it.

Squid ink fried rice $32
- garlic and kimchee fried rice, squid ink, dayboat scallop, argentinian prawn
It's big enough to share with 3 people.

Filet Mignon $33
-wagyu tenerloin, truffle soy-mirin reduction, baby carrots, pommes puree
It was rare, and steak was cold.

Shellfish pasta $35
-maine lobster, bay scallops, manila clams, santa barbara uni butter sauce
My least favorite dish from all. It was just average. Pretty big portion.

Matcha Mille feuille

Makgeolli foam, Passion fruit cream, milk powder crumble, banana ice cream
This was absolutely my favorite dessert!

Creme brulee with raspberry sauce on the bottom
