Four Queens - Magnolia's Veranda 2009

Magnolia's Veranda cafe at Four Queens. We hated it. We had free meals here, so since it's free, we just ate here, even though we know we don't like to eat here. But it's free!

Our waiter wasn't good. He was so slow. When we asked for real butter for the bread, well, I guess he forgot, he didn't bring us any.

We got our bread at 7:44PM, then we received salad and soup at 8:02PM, then we got ribs and seafood platter on 8:13PM. Then we realized he forgot to bring the baked potato for the ribs. Waited for the waiter for a while, told him, then received potato at 8:22PM.

For the taste, to me, everything tasted so fake, like from frozen bags, pre-made store bought, canned food. No flavor and dry.

Not so good bread, served with fake butter.

Minestrone for my seafood platter

Gravy for my mashed potato. It was awful and I don't need this much gravy.

Neptune Platter (broiled) $14.95
salmon, crab cake, shrimp, served with remoulade sauce

There were 2 sauces, remoulade sauce and lemon caper sauce. The sauce was AWFUL, mashed potato was probably from pre-made bag (we couldn't eat), crab cake wasn't good at all. The salmon also had no flavor, but I just ate it anyway with no sauce because salmon is good for wrinkles and other things (even I don't have wrinkles yet, I am getting older!).

baked potato for ribs

salad for ribs
I was wondering why the dressing is so orange/yellow? This dressing must have so much corn syrup and other bad stuff in it.

Barbequed baby back ribs (full) $16.95
comes with baked beans, salad or soup, potato, vegetable of the day

Four Queens - Hugo's Cellar, Nov. 2008

More photos from Hugo's Cellar. I LOVED my stuffed prawns. Escargot (puffs) were very greasy. I'm not sure if I'd order that again. I've been wanted to try their Cherries Jubilee and still haven't gotten that yet. Always we get too full before dessert. This time, we only had one appetizer, and we each had one entree, but again, we were full.

If you like prawns and crab cakes, you're gonna love it. It's like a crab cake on top of prawns.

Four Queens - Hugo's Cellar, Aug. 2008

Hugo's Cellar at Four Queens. We love this place. When you walk in, they give you a rose. The portions are huge here, I guess I said so before. All entrees come with salad, but if you don't want it, you can just say you don't want. I asked to have my salad as a half portion, because I knew it was gonna be too much food. I never have enough room for desserts.

Everything was good, except the Hot Rock. Basically you cook raw meats yourself. But the meat had no taste. After free bread and Hot Rock meats, I was already starting to feel full.

Four Queens slot tournament, Jan. 2009

Food from slot tournament at Four Queens in January 2009. We've been to many slot tournaments, but this was our first time at a Four Queens slot tournament. It was a little bit different from other casinos' tournaments. This Four Queens tournament was only 5 minutes for each session, and there were only 10 slot machines, and there were no chairs, so you had to stand up while you're playing. Also people who were at the tournament were mostly older people, like average 50 years old, I think. Usually slot tournaments are 10-15 minutes each session, and there are usually about 60 machines, and of course there are chairs at each machine, so you can sit while you're playing.

This was the food during the tournament.

Four Queens - Magnolia's Veranda, 2008

Magnolia's Veranda Cafe at Four Queens. It was late night, nothing was open at Four Queens except here, and we also had RFB for free food. So we knew we'd hate it, but again, we were hungry and it was free.

The first 3 pictures and rest of the pictures were taken on different days. Food in the first 3 pics was fine, but the rest was just awful.

Fancy shrimp cocktail $8.95

Omelettes $8.30 ($6.50 + $0.65 each additional item)
Comes with toast and hash browns

This omelet was actually OK.

This omelet was ordered on a different day. I guess the chef was different, because this omelet was cooked with ingredients and eggs together. Watery and a little burned. I felt like green peppers were defrosted frozen green peppers.

coffee $1.95

Fake butter. That's right, it wasn't real butter.

The Jackson Square with blueberries $6.95 + $0.75 = $7.70
two buttermilk pancakes, two eggs any style, bacon or sausage

Pancake was awful. Bblueberry tasted fake. Whoever made this food sucks.
