JIMMY BUFFETT’S MARGARITAVILLE TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL MARGARITA DAY 2/22

Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville Las Vegas is set to celebrate its namesake holiday National Margarita Day on February 22. Margaritaville will toast to the day with a line-up of margarita-focused specials, giveaways and events.

As part of the celebration, the restaurant is set to host Margaritaville University, an on-site complimentary margarita-making class from 3 - 4 p.m. During the hand-on class, Margaritaville bartenders will offer lessons on how to make signature margaritas at home. After guests study the art of mixing, shaking, and stirring, graduates will receive a diploma.

In addition to the complimentary lessons, Margaritaville Las Vegas is inviting guests to attend the 2nd Annual National Margarita Day Toast. At 5 p.m., a Master of Ceremonies will lead a toast to celebrate the brand’s namesake beverage.

To celebrate from coast-to-coast, all Margaritaville Facebook fans are encouraged to participate in the national margarita recipe contest by submitting their favorite recipes. The winning concoction will be served on February 22 at all Margaritaville restaurant locations in the United States.

Berlin Currywurst is coming to Grand Central Market this Spring

For the first-time ever, Berlin Currywurst will be adding traditional German breakfast offerings to their menu - for Grand Central Market customers only.

Berlin Currywurst is the fourth Currywurst installment for the youthful married owners, Hardeep and Lena Manak. The couple left their desk jobs in Berlin, Germany, and moved to Los Angeles to open their first Berlin Currywurst location in 2011. Since then, their traditionally-made currywurst dishes have been attracting sausage and German cuisine aficionados alike to the Manak's original location in Silverlake, as well as to their Hollywood beer garden and Santa Monica Pier locations.

"We do currywurst the authentic way you get it served in Berlin's urban sidewalks. We believe the Grand Central Market is the perfect fit for this street style food and brings it back to its roots, a busy urban environment. Our recipe is steeped in German tradition. Our menu is kept minimalistic and you will discover an unlimited variety of combinations by experiencing different sausages, heat levels, and flavors."

The debut of Berlin Currywurst this Spring is part of the unprecedented celebration of new restaurant openings at the iconic food arcade, which is the oldest open-air market in the city.

Grand Central Market is in the midst of adding a wide array of new vendors with new flavors, cuisines and tastes throughout the marketplace. The new eateries include Sticky Rice, serving authentic Thai "Comfort Food;" Valerie at Grand Central Market, a bakery and coffee shop from acclaimed Valerie Confections; specialty coffee innovators G&B Coffee; Horse Thief, serving Central Texas BBQ; DTLA Cheese, serving domestic and imported cheese dishes; and Eggslut, serving variations of the incredible egg. Additional upcoming openings include Olio Pizzeria GCM, Wexler's Deli, The Oyster Gourmet and Belcampo Meat Co.

The musical indie comedy "Sweet Nothings"

I'd love to share about this musical indie comedy that involves a chef of an all-desserts restaurant. Sweet Nothing, the musical indie comedy about two misfits, an actress who won't act and a chef who won't cook.

Launch day: Monday, 3/3

Sweet Nothings is an indie musical comedy feature about love, about food, and about facing your biggest fears. The story follows Gwen and Jack, two misfits afraid to take the leap that accompanies their greatest passions: Jack is a chef who dreams of opening an all-desserts restaurant; Gwen is an actress afraid to put up her hilariously weird one-woman show. It’s filled with love, levity, and most importantly, desserts.

After Dumb Starbucks, I stopped by at Ramekin. They offer coffee by Handsome coffee, also ice cream and ramekin sized desserts. And some sandwiches too.

I was gonna get strawberry brick toast but they said they don't have strawberry so I just got pastry.

It looks like they have instagram, facebook and twitter check in offer but I didn't realize it but now I know so I'll use it next time.

It is Mexican bakery. Big selections of freshly baked breads/ pastries. There are tables inside so you can eat there. I think they also sell some sandwiches too.  I did like both breads I bought.

Healthy spinach, celery and apple smoothie

If you are my blog reader, you probably already know that I love sweets. I can't live without pastries. I was eating pastires and dessert almost every day, not only one, but 2-4 sweets a day, for last 2 weeks or so. Last week, I felt my body was heavier and I can see my body and face is bigger. So I need to get back in shape. I started eating more healthy stuff again... since few days ago.  This morning, I made smoothie with what I have in my fridge. It's super healthy and the flavor wasn't bad at all. It has strong celery flavor so if you don't like celery, use kale or less celery and add more fruits, like apple, banana, or honey.

Spinach, celery, and apple smoothie
makes 1

1 apple
3 stalks celery
handful spinach
1-2 Tbsp applesauce (use more if you like sweeter)
1 tsp honey

Chop celery and apple in small pieces. Mix all in blender.

Popeye Dumpling and Noodle - Koreatown

New Korean dumpling place! All dumplings are $5 plus tax. Good price and dumplings were good.
I wanted red bean dumplings but they were out of it. Noodles are not available yet.

King dumplings (5pcs) $5

Since it says "king dumplings" I thought each bun's gonna be big like other Korean dumpling places, but it wasn't.

Spicy dumplings (10pcs) $5

It has jalapeno in it so it's little spicy. But other than that, pretty much both spicy dumplings and king dumplings were the same filling.
